Join us on Tuesday, August 4 for National Church Residences Senior Day at the Ohio State Fair!
On National Church Residences Senior Day, everyone 60-and-older gets a special $4 admission rate and a chance to experience the “Well Beyond 60!” Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Park (located near the giant slide).
A visit to the Ohio State Fair is always a fun day with lots of walking. If you’re 60 or older, stop by the Ohio Department of Aging “Well Beyond 60!” tent where National Church Residences will be providing free foot checks from our podiatrists, Drs. Marcia and Ed Baynham of Capital City Foot and Ankle.
National Church Residences will also be providing QTUG (which stands for Quantitative Timed Up and Go) Gait and Fall-Risk assessments on August 3 through 6 from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Home and Community Services booth in front of the Janis Center.
The QTUG assessment helps doctors and other medical professionals to evaluate, advise and treat and individual to help prevent falls and related injuries.
Professionals from the National Church Residences Home and Community Services team will ask you a few questions (including your date of birth, height and weight) and place the QTUG sensors on your legs.
You’ll sit in a chair, then stand, walk about nine feet, turn, walk back to the chair and sit down again.
The data from the sensors will be transmitted electronically, and a report will be created that you can take home with you!
